Mobile Offline Logbook, Files and More

  • Mobile Offline Logbook, Files and More

    Ahoy fellow sailors,

The summer season is behind us, but not quite so since the weather is holding up and sailing is still appealing on late September. On our side, we had a quite fruitful summer and managed to deliver a boatload of stuff, some new, some fixes and some updates too.

Here is an overview of the latest deliveries that you may already experience on web-UI and mobile-apps:

    • Offline [mobile]: The Logbook, Alerts and Files modules have migrated to offline-first technology. This means that you may use them without internet connectivity, in the middle of a long trans-Atlantic passage. Especially for the Files, this mean that you may have all your user-manuals, specs-sheets and especially service-manuals, available 24/7, especially when offline

    • Calendar [web]: we have added a Calendar module to provide bird-eye view on all date-bound records. You now have a calendar overview spotting easily upcoming deadlines, such as needed maintenance tasks and spares, as well as overdue tasks from the past days/weeks

    • Files [mobile]

      • Folders management

      • Upload from device gallery

      • Upload from camera: photo a document/receipt/invoice

    • Notifications (alerts)

      • Re-designed

      • Providing better management including mark as read, user-configuration settings, etc

      • Supporting Offline

      • Notify you even when TheBoatApp is not running (push-notifications)

    • Misc: many “smaller” additions to make your life easier,

      • Waypoints on logbook map

      • Quick-log to register a log-record really fast

      • In-app update banner, to know when an update is available and initiate it

A tonne of work has also been done on other features, updates and fixes. You may always see what is released in the public Changelog and much more you may propose what YOU need, by posting it in our Community, where other users may also comment and upvote it.

Closing, I wish you well, with as many miles as you wish under your keel, good health and safe cruising, with an always seaworthy boat!

    Best Marine Regards,

    George
